Get LocalCast on your Fire TV
Your Fire TV needs the free LocalCast TV app before your phone can cast to it.
On the Fire TV
Grab the remote. This works everywhere.
- Open Find, then Search, from the Fire TV home screen.
- Search for LocalCast.
- Install LocalCast TV on Fire
- Open it once on the TV.
- Cast again from your phone. The Fire TV now appears in the device list.

Bought your stick in 2025 or later? The Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the Fire TV Stick HD run Amazon's new system, which cannot install Android apps — the search finds nothing there. A receiver for those is in the works.
Already installed? Open the app on the TV once, then cast again — your phone cannot tell a closed app from a missing one.
